The eNTERFACE'05 BIOMETRIC Database
The "eNTERFACE'05 Biometric Database" is a multimodal and multilingual database. It was created and used during the eNTERFACE workshop '05, Mons, Belgium, for the "GMM-Based Multimodal Biometric Verification" project, led by Prof. Yannis Stylianou from the University of Crete. Results of this project are detailed in [1].
CONTENTS
This database consists of multiple-user recordings of biometric data : videos (audio included) and signatures.
For legal and privacy reasons, this database has been made anonymous. There are forty-seven participants, from all over the world : Belgium (Wallonia), France, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Greece, Ireland, Austria, Canada (Quebec), Croatia, Germany, Russia, UK, USA, Brazil and Cuba.
For each participant the following data are available :
- at least three video sessions (30 seconds each) while reading a text in English (the text is an article of a newspaper, and is not the same for all participants).
- at least three video sessions (30 seconds each) while reading a text in the participant's mother language (the text was chosen by the participant).
- at least 30 signatures. For legal and privacy reasons, the participants were asked to perform fake signatures.
FORMAT
Videos - Original videos were encoded in raw UYVY. AVI 640 x 480, 15.00 fps with uncompressed 16bit PCM audio, mono, 32000 Hz little endian. A few videos were with uncompressed PCM audio, stereo, 44100 Hz little endian.
The videos that are available in the current database are compressed Mpeg-4 movies.
Signatures - Each file represents one signature. Each line of a file consists of four comma separated integer values for the sampled x- and y-position of the pen tip, the pen pressure and the timestamp (in ms). Those lines with values of -1 for x, y and pressure represent a pen-up/pen-down event.

This database is available under MIT license conditions (the terms of this very open license are provided with the database).
